چکیده
Saline-sodic soil is one of the major threats to crop growth, production, and quality. Biochar amendment could alleviate adverse impacts saline-sodic stress in crops. However, effect biochar on root morphological, physiological functions, rice yield paddy has not been studied. Here, underlying mechanisms positive effects morphological characteristics functions roots under heavily amended with were evaluated. The was at zero-biochar (CK), 15g kg-1 (T1), 30 g (T2), or 45 (T3). addition significantly increased length, volume, dry weight, root-shoot ratio all growth stages. absorption vigor oxidization capacity enhanced by decreasing Na+/K+ ratio, MDA content, increasing K+ concentration after amendment. bleeding rate treatments different stage 11.01% 67.73% greater than these CK. It concluded that had soil.

Bacteria in combination with fertilizers promote root and shoot growth of maize in saline-sodic soil
Salinity is the leading abiotic stress hampering maize ( Zea mays L.) growth throughout the world, especially in Pakistan. During salinity stress, the endogenous ethylene level in plants increases, which retards proper root growth and consequent shoot growth of the plants. However, certain bacteria contain the enzyme 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase, which converts 1-aminocyclo...
متن کاملImproving Soil Physical Indicators by Soil Amendment to a Saline-Sodic Soil
The application of organic amendments can be an appropriate solution to reclaim and improve physical propertiesof saline-sodic soils. In this research, an experiment was performed under greenhouse conditions to study the effect ofamendments to the physical properties of loamy saline-sodic soil. The five treatments were control (withoutamendment), municipal solid waste compost (MC), vermicompost...
متن کاملApplying Biochar and Mineral Amendments to Remediate the Chemical Properties of a Saline-Sodic Soil
The present study was intended to improve the chemical properties of a saline-sodic soil using the individual application of alfalfa residue and two biochars produced from sugarcane bagasse and walnut shell, at the weighting ratio of 5%; their concomitant application with gypsum, aluminum sulfate and the mixture of these two chemical amendments was considered. The experiment was conducted in th...

Suberin-derived substituted fatty acids have been shown to be potential biomarkers for plant-derived carbon (C) in soils across ecosystems. Analyzing root derived suberin compounds bound in soil could help to understand the root input into a soil organic carbon pool. In this study, bound lipids were extracted and identified in root and topsoil samples. Short-chain suberin diacids were quantifie...
متن کاملAmelioration of salt affected soils in rice paddy system by application of organic and inorganic amendments
Combined application of organic and inorganic amendments was known to play a significant role in improvement of soil properties. A field experiment was conducted to explore the effects of gypsum, farmyard manure and commercial humic acid application on the amelioration of salt affected (saline sodic) soil. During this study, soil pH, electrical conductivity, sodium adsorption ratio, responses o...
